“Mexico: La Penita in the Morning”

This painting features La Penita, Mexico, from the palapa of a friend’s house. I have very fond memories of painting this one. It was a gorgeous morning and I was working on the palapa with three other artists. Our host put on Harry Nilsson’s “Coconut Song” and we all started dancing, while still painting. Pure happiness. “La Penita” is 8 x 10 inches and painted on an artist’s panel. It’s framed in a 1/4-inch pine strip frame and is signed, titled and dated on the back. The painting is currently listed for sale on EBAY.

“Yellowstone Color”

McCloud River Falls, Mount Shasta

I painted this one en plein air a couple of years ago, during a painting trip to the Mount Shasta Region. The falls were really loud and the squirrels kept sneaking into my lunch bag. The painting is 9 by 12 inches and is painted on a panel. It’s framed in a 1/4 inch pine strip frame and currently listed on eBay.

Mendocino Sea Stacks

Here’s another one from my artist’s retreat in Westport, California a couple of years ago. Westport is a tiny town on the Pacific Ocean, about an hour north of Mendocino. I painted this on en plein air, standing on the edge of a cliff. It was a fabulously blustery day and the sea was churning. The painting is 5 x 7 inches and is framed in a 1/4 pine strip fame.
